SANDPEDDLER INN AND SUITES POLICIES

Rooms, rates, reservations and fees are subject to change. Minimum 2 night stay is required in season. Guests are charged first night's stay plus taxes and fees when making a reservation. Cash preferred, no checks accepted. Must be 25 years of age with valid ID to book reservation.

Booking online or through a travel agency, you must enter the credit card information for the card that you will use and fill in complete address, city, state and zip code and correct billing address for the credit card.

48 hour Cancellation Policy:
Reservations cancelled with less than 48 hour notice prior to arrival, the first night's stay plus tax will be charged.

Checking In:
Check-in 3:00PM. Please make prior arrangements for late arrivals, after 5PM Sunday - Thursday or after 7PM on Friday and Saturday by calling our office at 910-256-2028 or email reservations@thesandpeddler.com after hours check-in must be prearranged and prepaid. Credit card will be required at check-in. Check-out 11AM.

One parking space per unit with numbered passes. Extra parking is available at the Town Lot next door. No parking available for trailers or oversized vehicles. Please return keys to front desk or drop in key drop box, there is a $25 per key charge for lost keys.

Non-smoking property $250 charge for smoking in any unit or on balcony. Sandpeddler Inn and Suites is a Pet Free Hotel. Guests are responsible for damages to property and will be charged accordingly, minimum charge is $100. This includes spray-tanning, hair dye, missing or damaged property and having unauthorized pets. Guests are responsible to assure that windows and doors are closed when absent from the room or during inclement weather. Quiet Time is 11PM - 8AM. Violators of the Quiet Time policy will be asked to leave without refund.

SERVICE DOGS
SERVICE DOGS Although many of us here at the Sandpeddler Inn & Suites are pet lovers, the governing documents of the Sandpeddler require that the property be operated as a pet-free property with the exception that unit owner may bring their personal pets into their unit so long as they comply with specific conditions. That said, the Sandpeddler is required by law to permit guests with Service Dogs. If you are a guest claiming a Service Dog, please review the following information and guidelines and complete the attached form. First and foremost, Service Dogs are not pets. Service Dogs are protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act (the “ADA”) and are “individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability, including a physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual or other mental disability.” The ADA regulations provide that the work or tasks performed by a Service Dog must be directly related to the person’s disability and specifically mention the following examples: • Assisting persons who are blind or have low vision to navigate or other tasks • Alerting persons who are deaf or hard of hearing to the presence of people or sounds • Assisting an individual having a seizure • Pulling wheelchair • Alerting a person to the presence of allergens • Retrieving items such as medicine or the telephone • Providing physical support and assistance with balance or stability to a mobility-impaired person • Preventing or interrupting impulsive or destructive behaviors in persons with psychiatric or neurological disabilities Service Dogs are not required to be certified or go through a professional training program and they are not required to wear a vest or other ID that indicates that they are Service Dogs. Currently, there is no nationally recognized certification for Service Dogs. That said, a Service Dog may be voluntarily registered by its handler with the NC Department of Health and Human Services. In North Carolina, it is a Class 3 misdemeanor to portray a dog as a Service Dog when it is, in fact, not trained in that capacity. Misrepresenting a dog as a Service Dog is insulting to animals and handlers that have dedicated the months and even years of hard work and training that is necessary for a true Service Dog to perform its specialized tasks. The Sandpeddler, like many other vacation rental properties, has a zero-tolerance policy regarding the misrepresentation of Service Dogs and will report all suspected offenders to the appropriate authorities. An Emotional Support Animal is not the same as a Service Dog. The role of an Emotional Support Animal is to provide calming support and comfort to an emotionally distressed pet owner. Emotional Support Animals do not have the duty of being specifically trained for particular disabilities like Service Dogs are and are not recognized by the ADA. The Sandpeddler is not required to permit Emotional Support Animals and as a pet-free property, does not permit Emotional Support Animals. The Sandpeddler is, however, required to accept guests with Service Dogs and may not charge a separate pet fee for doing so. To bring a Service Dog to the Sandpeddler, the following rules apply: 1. The Service Dog must be declared at the time of booking whenever possible, and prior to the check-in date in all instances. 2. Guests claiming a Service Dog must be prepared to answer the following questions: • Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability? • What work or tasks has the dog been trained to perform that relate to the disability? 3. The owner of the Service Dog is fully liable for any and all damage caused by the Service Dog to the rented unit and/or to any Sandpeddler property and for any injury caused by the Service Dog. 4. No dogs, including Service Dogs, are permitted in the pool area. 5. The owner must immediately clean up after the Service Dog and dispose of solid waste in the appropriate receptacle. 6. Sandpeddler staff has the right to require that a Service Dog be removed from the property in any of the following events: a. The Service Dog is out of control and the handler cannot get the dog under control. b. The Service Dog is not housebroken. c. The Service Dog is left alone in the unit or anywhere on the Sandpeddler property. d. The Service Dog is not harnessed and leashed at all times while in the Sandpeddler common areas. The Service Dog is left alone at any time and for any duration in the rented unit or anywhere on the Sandpeddler property. d. The Service Dog is not harnessed and leashed at all times while in the Sandpeddler common areas.
